Vancouver’s iconic Neptoon Records is hosting a very special event for fans of Heated Rivalry this July, and if the show’s soundtrack was one of your favourites, you won’t want to miss it!
The Canadian production that took the world by storm this past winter focuses on the love story between two rival hockey players, starring B.C.’s own Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie. It exploded in popularity not just for its spicy scenes, but also for its representation of queer love in the world of professional sports — particularly professional hockey.
A vinyl release party at the cottage
The Heated Rivalry vinyl release party at Neptoon Records will celebrate the release of the show’s legendary soundtrack on vinyl and will feature freebies and signed prizes, according to the record store.
Plus, it’ll give fans the chance to come together to celebrate, with party favours given out to everyone while supplies last (no purchase necessary).
Neptoon Records notes that the Heated Rivalry Original Soundtrack will be available at the event on vinyl and CD. The soundtrack includes songs from the series, the official score, collectible insert items, and a new bonus track, “One Soul (Cottage Mix),” which drops in record stores on July 10.
Those who do end up purchasing a CD or vinyl at the party will receive an extra gift, while supplies last.
Finally, a secret “grand prize” will be given out at the end of the event, with no purchase required. Note that you must be present at the party at the time of announcing the winner to actually take this one home!
So get ready to head back to the cottage. The Heated Rivalry craze is far from over!
How to get into the vinyl party
The vinyl party is happening on Friday, July 10, starting at 5 p.m. sharp. However, entry will be first-come, first-served, so you’ll want to line up outside the store as early as you can, as this event is expected to be at full capacity.
At 4:45 p.m., Neptoon Records will begin letting people into the store, with the music getting started at 5 p.m. As always at the beloved indie record store, admission is completely free and all ages are welcome. This event does not require a ticket; simply show up and get ready to party.
“So far, we have only had to turn people away from one of our listening events, but arriving semi-early is still recommended to be safe,” Neptoon Records explains in a recent post. “We never know how many goodies we are getting until right before the event, so if that’s what you’re after, early arrival is encouraged!”
Mark your calendars, cottage-goers!
