Barbra Streisandwill no longer attend this year’s Cannes Film Festival after suffering a knee injury that forced her to cancel the appearance.

The legendary entertainer had been scheduled to receive an Honorary Palme d’Or during the festival’s closing ceremony next Saturday, May 23, which would have also marked her very first appearance at Cannes.s

Festival organizers confirmed the news Sunday, revealing that the 84-year-old had recently informed them she would be unable to travel while recovering. “On the advice of my doctors, as I continue recovering from a knee injury, I am sadly unable to attend the Festival de Cannes this year,” Streisand said in a statement on Sunday, May 17, per Rolling Stone.

The actress added that she had been looking forward not only to accepting the honor, but also to reconnecting with fellow artists and returning to France. “While I regret that I can’t be there in person, I want to extend my warmest congratulations to all of the filmmakers from around the world whose extraordinary talent and creative vision are being celebrated this year,” she shared.

Despite her absence, Cannes organizers confirmed the festival will still pay tribute to Streisand during the closing ceremony.

Streisand wasn’t the only major star recognized at this year’s festival. John Travolta also received an Honorary Palme d’Or while attending Cannes to promote his new film Propeller One-Way Night Coach, which co-stars his daughter, Ella Bleu Travolta.

Travolta’s style has been going viral online the last few days thanks to his red carpet fashion choices, including multiple berets worn throughout the festival. After arriving at the Karma premiere in a white beret, the actor later appeared at a photocall at the Palais des Festivals for Propeller wearing a black version as well.

He also debuted a third navy blue beret in an Instagram video, sharing how he flew himself and his daughter to the Paris festival. That detail is notable as Ella Bleu plays a flight attendant in the film. Travolta, 72, shares Ella Bleu, 26, along with sons Benjamin, 15, and Jett, with his late wife, Kelly Preston. Jett sadly passed away in 2009 at the age of 16.
