Quebec reported the strongest provincial gains in occupancy and RevPAR.

Canada’s hotel industry recorded higher average daily rate and revenue per available room for the eighth straight month in August 2026, according to CoStar data.

National hotel occupancy reached 80.9%, up 0.2% from August 2025. Average daily rate rose 6.7% to CAD267.48, while RevPAR increased 6.9% to CAD216.31.

Quebec reported the strongest provincial gains in occupancy and RevPAR. Occupancy increased 3.2% to 83.7%, while RevPAR climbed 10.1% to CAD225.50. Nova Scotia posted the largest increase in average daily rate, rising 9.0% to CAD289.67.

Among major markets, Toronto recorded the largest gains in ADR and RevPAR. ADR rose 10.0% to CAD308.00, while RevPAR increased 15.1% to CAD278.10. The Canadian National Exhibition and Fan Expo Canada supported hotel demand in the market.

Montreal recorded the largest occupancy increase among major markets, with occupancy rising 6.4% to 85.6%. Its ADR increased 7.4% to CAD273.21, and RevPAR climbed 14.3% to CAD233.96. The Osheaga Festival and Montreal Pride supported the market’s performance.
