Earth Day is coming up on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, and honestly, it’s a pretty great reminder to get outside, do something a little different, and give back to the planet while you’re at it.

Luckily, Calgary has plenty of Earth Day events happening this week where you can show up, get involved, and be part of something bigger.

From community cleanups to fun local events, there are lots of easy ways to take part and make a difference. Here are some Earth Day events happening in the city this week.

The Earth Day Celebration at Canopy Studios invites you to take part in a guided Eco Art activity, explore the connection between art, nature, and well-being, and contribute ideas for a future sensory garden.

You will also experience poetry readings and an art exhibition inspired by local green spaces, learning how creativity can be used to connect more deeply with the environment.
