Fairmont Mayakoba has appointed Gonzalo Güelman Ros as general manager. The luxury beachfront resort is located in Riviera Maya. Güelman Ros brings more than 30 years of hospitality experience in the Americas and the Caribbean. He has held senior leadership roles with Conrad, The Ritz-Carlton, IHG, Four Seasons, and St. Regis, most recently serving as general manager of The St. Regis Punta Mita.
Güelman Ros began his career in food and beverage and has held executive positions across large-scale resort portfolios. He is the founder of Talisman Group, a lifestyle curation firm specializing in luxury residential experiences, and previously served as co-CEO and managing director of Xala Development, an eco-conscious development on Mexico’s Pacific coast.
Fairmont Mayakoba recently celebrated its 20th anniversary with the debut of “Past, Present, and Paradise,” an art installation featuring established and emerging Riviera Maya artists. The resort also expanded its wellness offerings by introducing a dedicated Wellness Suite.
