Here’s A First Look at Its Twisted Take on Toy Story

The Intrepid Heroes are back, and this time they’re toys. On Wednesday, Dropout revealed the first trailer for the next season of Dimension 20, subtitled Toylight. The six-episode adventure will premiere next month.

In Dimension 20: Toylight, series staples Emily Axford, Ally Beardsley, Brian Murphy, Zac Oyama, Siobhan Thompson, and Lou Wilson (the Intrepid Heroes) play toys fighting against the enchanted Toylight, “the last flicker of a dying child’s imagination,” according to the season’s description. The trailer introduces each of them, like Wilson’s ax-wielding Lion in a leotard Wyon, Axford’s buff baby Cutie Pie, and Oyama’s toy soldier Tinsley.

The set and game board are some of Dimension 20‘s most colorful and creative yet, turning classic children’s toys and wooden blocks into a battlefield. So many of the miniatures wield spears, such as the thimbles controlled by Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan. “I’m gonna put my drumstick up their asses!” he has a thimble say at one point.

Dimension 20: Toylight was teased last month with a trailer dubbed “Playtime Is Over.” One of the commentors on YouTube called the teaser “Toy Story but Dunkirk,” and I think they nailed it.

After Gladlands and City Council of Darkness, Toylight will be the third Dimension 20 season released in 2026. Like Gladlands, it will be a short campaign with just six episodes. It will premiere on Dropout on Sept. 16, with new episodes being released every Wednesday.

2026 has been a big year for the comedy streaming service. Dropout added original and licensed animation; ran a successful Kickstarter for a Game Changer at-home game; added a weird puppet show; and released its flagship series Game Changer on disc. “We have to experiment and be comfortable with a bit of failure in order to innovate,” Dropout CEO Sam Reich told Polygon about its wave of experiments.
