IHG Hotels & Resorts and Urban Property Group have signed agreements for Crowne Plaza Newcastle and Hotel Indigo Gosford, expanding their relationship to three hotels in New South Wales.

The signings follow the 2025 agreement for Crowne Plaza Parramatta and cover hotel projects in Newcastle and Gosford.

Crowne Plaza Newcastle is expected to open in late 2029 as part of Urban’s mixed-use development adjacent to Newcastle Interchange. The 171-room hotel will be located in a 43-story development that will also include 219 residential apartments. Planned hotel facilities include all-day dining, a lobby bar, more than 550 square meters of meetings and events space, a 425-square-meter ballroom, a pool and landscaped public spaces.

The project will return the Crowne Plaza brand to Newcastle and provide accommodation and meeting space in the city and the broader Hunter region.

Hotel Indigo Gosford is expected to open in mid-2030 within Urban’s The Waterfront precinct. The 152-room hotel will include views across Brisbane Water, a neighborhood café and bar, a rooftop pool and wellness facilities. Its design and guest experience will draw on the local neighborhood’s stories and character.

The Hotel Indigo project will be located on the Central Coast, where investment in Gosford’s central business district and waterfront is continuing. The hotel will support the region’s overnight visitor economy.
