Journey Beyond has entered into an agreement to acquire the operations of the Crocodile Hotel, located in the township of Jabiru in Australia’s Northern Territory, within the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park.
The Crocodile Hotel features 110 rooms and is known for its distinctive shape, representing the saltwater crocodile. The property includes the Manjmukmuk Restaurant and Bar, conference facilities, an outdoor swimming pool, and an on-site art gallery showcasing local artwork.
The hotel is situated on land leased from the Mirarr Traditional Owners through Gundjeihmi Aboriginal Corporation Jabiru Town (GACJT). GACJT describes the transaction as a step toward delivering the Mirarr Jabiru Masterplan, which identifies Jabiru as a location for eco-friendly, active outdoor, and Indigenous cultural tourism.
Journey Beyond’s portfolio includes other properties in the Northern Territory. The Crocodile Hotel will continue to be led by the existing management team under Journey Beyond’s stewardship.
The transaction is expected to be finalized in early June.
