Some of the best songs from Lynyrd Skynyrd‘s discography just never get old — in fact, the band continues to show up on current music charts.

According to new Billboard rankings dated the week of May 30, the iconic ’70s rock band re-entered the Tock Rock Albums chart this week, landing in the No. 24 spot with their 2000 compilation album, All Time Greatest Hits.

Over two decades after it initially dropped, the album’s resurgence on the charts adds another week to its career total of more than 270 weeks on the Top Rock Albums chart, where it peaked at No. 8 in 2020. (Despite the album coming out in 2000, it didn’t debut on the Top Rock Albums chart until 2017 due, which is likely due to the rise of streaming and subsequent changes to Billboard’s chart methodology.)

Similarly, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s All Time Greatest Hits also didn’t chart on the Billboard 200 albums chart until 2013, eventually reaching its peak position at No. 45 over a decade later in 2025. The compilation album has spent a total of 355 weeks in various spots on the chart.

The All Time Greatest Hits album features some of the bands’ most iconic tracks, from the ’70s, including smash hits like “Free Bird,” “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Simple Man.”

In 2003, the album was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), before it was upgraded two years later to Platinum status, signifying one million units sold.

The phenomenon of classic rock albums, particularly compilation albums, returning to the current music charts proves the multi-generational staying power of some of the genre’s most iconic bands. Just last week, The Eagles witnessed a similar chart resurgence when their 1976 Greatest Hits album re-entered the Billboard 200 again, over 50 years after it was originally released.
