Scandic will add a new franchise hotel in Köping, operated by Norlandia Hotel Group, with an opening scheduled for January 2027. The hotel, currently marketed under a different brand, is undergoing a full renovation and will offer 110 newly renovated rooms under the Scandic brand.
Located about 1.5 hours by car from Stockholm, Köping is Sweden’s second-largest inland port and a regional hub with a significant manufacturing industry. The hotel is situated near the city center and Kristinelund Sportsfield.
Upon opening, the property will feature 110 rooms, a restaurant, and meeting facilities for up to 150 participants. The hotel will be certified with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.
The agreement expands Scandic’s franchise portfolio in the Nordics. Norlandia Hotel Group will operate the hotel under a franchise agreement with Scandic, with the property expected to begin welcoming guests under the Scandic brand in early 2027.
