Expedia Group, Inc. has appointed Derek Andersen as Chief Financial Officer, effective May 11, 2026. Andersen will lead the company’s global finance organization and report to Chief Executive Officer Ariane Gorin. He will be based in Seattle.
Scott Schenkel, the current Chief Financial Officer, will step down after 16 months in the position. Schenkel will remain with Expedia Group through its first quarter earnings call on May 7, 2026, and will depart the company on May 16, 2026.
Andersen previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Snap Inc. from May 2019 through April 2026 and as Vice President of Finance at Snap Inc. since July 2018. Before joining Snap, he held finance leadership roles at Amazon.com, Inc. from March 2011 to June 2018, including serving as Vice President of Finance for Amazon’s digital video business. He also held senior finance roles at Fox Interactive Media, including Senior Vice President, Finance and Business Operations for IGN, and Vice President, Finance.
Andersen holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Acadia University, a Master of Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, and is a CFA charterholder.
