Lots of us salivate at the mere thought of sinking our teeth into a juicy, smoky patty, but not all burgers were created equal.

That’s why recently called on its international network of editors to nominate their favourite burger in their city, and it resulted in a drool-worthy roundup of the planet’s most lip-smacking patties

However, World’s Best Burgers (unsurprisingly) also know a thing or two about where to get a good burger, and a 101-strong list of the restaurants serving up the tastiest ones in the world has just landed.

How are the World’s Best Burgers ranked?

There are seven main categories which are assessed anonymously by the platform’s Steak / Burger Ambassadors, before a final decision is made by the executive team. The criteria includes:

  • Meat quality – such as the type of beef, the quality of butchery and how traceable it is
  • Burger composition and execution – a balanced flavour profile and good toppings, for example
  • Consistency – do restaurants with multiple outposts upkeep the quality?
  • Guest experience – this assessed the friendliness of service, the vibes in the restaurant, the drinks on offer and how easy it is to book a table
  • Online presence – effective use of social media, and good use of customer feedback
  • Sustainability and responsibility – this includes ethical sourcing of meat and minimising waste
  • Compliance with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) protocols – essentially food safety and adequate training for the staff

Which burgers were recognised in this year’s ranking?

Topping the list is Bleecker, a London-based chain which has eight outposts in the city: find them in Spitalfields Market, Seven Dials, Victoria, Bloomberg, Westfield White City, London Bridge, Baker Street and Soho.
