What’s trending, Edmonton?

Weather continues to be a mixed bag in the city

According to Environment Canada, the week ahead of us has a bunch of different flavours of weather hitting the city.

This Wednesday, Oct. 21, has a projected high of 14°C, which will be the “warmest” weather we see this upcoming week. Every evening will have a low reaching into the negatives, except Thursday, Oct. 22, which will reach only 3°C with periods of rain. There’s also a chance of flurries on Saturday; what a way to start the weekend.

Calling all Madonna fans to the Winspear Centre this weekend…

Generational pop star Madonna’s music is taking over the Winspear Centre this Sunday, Oct. 25. You’ll get to see hit songs like “Vogue,” “Material Girl,” and “Like a Prayer” come to life on stage, recreated by some of the best musicians in the country.

There’s a new clothing store opening in Kingsway Mall this weekend

A Suzy Shier and Le Chateau boutique is opening this upcoming weekend at Kingsway Mall, and we couldn’t be more excited.

For the grand opening on Saturday, Oct. 17, they will be celebrating with 40 per cent off the entire store. In addition to that, the first 50 customers who make a purchase will receive a gift card valued at up to $250.

On top of a new clothing store… how about a new bookstore?

Edmonton’s newest bookstore, Second Shelf Books, is now open in the French Quarter.

Here, they offer shelves upon shelves of new and used reads to explore. Whether it’s fantasy, non-fiction, sci-fi, or something completely different, this spot will have loads of titles to delve into every single day of the week.

Or maybe you’ll want to check out this pumpkin walk coming near Edmonton

Just outside Drayton Valley, the trails will be lighting up for the annual Forbidden Forest Pumpkin Walk this week.

During this event, lanterns will line the pathways along with loads of carved pumpkins to set the tone for a magical fall evening. Visitors are welcome to participate in the pumpkin carving contest, listen to live music, or get a bite from one of the local food trucks through the night.

So, if you’re looking to embrace the autumnal vibes and make the most of the season, this pumpkin walk is definitely going to deliver.
