Several iconic rock bands will be playing at a B.C. music festival this summer that’d make a great road trip from Vancouver and an escape from the FIFA World Cup.

The timing of the B.C. music festival is notable as it comes just after some of the biggest matchups happening during FIFA Vancouver, but that also means it could make for an awesome escape if you’re sick of the soccer festivities.

Rock The Lake Music Festival is taking place in Kelowna at Prospera Place between July 10 and 12, and the concert announcement includes some pretty legendary names. Even though the final FIFA Vancouver match takes place on July 7, the actual fan festival doesn’t end until July 19, a week after Rock The Lake.

Prospera Place is about a four-hour drive from Vancouver.

Some of the headliners include Alexisonfire, April Wine, Glass Tigers, The Hip Replacements, Default, and Cameron Whitcomb.

The festival announcement calls Alexisonfire one of the most influential alternative bands of the 21st century, co-led by another beloved Canadian artist, Dallas Green of City and Colour.

The announcement says that April Wine is no stranger to the festival, and the classic rock band has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

“Rock The Lake 2026 brings our vision of an inclusive rock festival to life,”  said Trish Jelinski, general manager and vice president of GSL Group Sports & Entertainment, in a release.

“One that stays true to its classic rock foundation while also celebrating great Canadian music across generations, past, present, and future. Alexisonfire are such an iconic band for a whole generation of Canadian rock fans, so to be the festival that brings them to B.C. this summer is so exciting. As we promised, this is ‘rock for all.’”

You can find more information about Rock The Lake, including ticket and pass prices, on the Rock The Lake website.

Someone wrote, “I’ll go if Nickelback goes,” on the official Rock The Lake Instagram page. We regret to inform you that, thus far, Nickelback has not been announced for the festival.
