Dirty lattes are all over social media lately, and you can now try one in Toronto’s east end. A.M. Coffee Laboratory in Scarborough announced its new ‘Signature -86°C Dirty Latte’ earlier this month, and customers apparently have just seconds to taste it at its best!

According to Barista Magazine, a dirty latte typically starts with very cold milk in a clear glass before a hot shot of espresso is gently poured over the top. Rather than blending the two immediately, the liquids form some cool, psychedelic-looking brown-and-white layers. You drink it without stirring, allowing each sip to shift as the warm, concentrated espresso meets the colder and creamier milk below!

A.M. Coffee’s version takes that temperature bit much further: the glass is stored in a special freezer set to -86°C before the milk and espresso are added. Just make sure to start drinking immediately, though, since the latte is apparently at its absolute best for only about 30 seconds.

Bonus: you’ll get to take the branded cup home!

If dirty lattes aren’t your thing, A.M. Coffee also serves up other tasty, unique concoctions, like a melted corn coffee made with espresso, whole milk, corn and corn cold foam, or the Taro Noir Glaze espresso, made with whole milk, taro, black sesame and cold foam. The cafe also offers delicious classic drinks, like Americanos and cappuccinos, with optional add-ons like brown sugar boba, oat milk, and salted cheese!

A.M. Coffee Laboratory is located at 3101 Kennedy Rd., Unit C10, in Scarborough.
