We humans have had our fun this summer; it’s time for the dogs to take advantage of these last few weeks of warm weather in Toronto! While the city’s public outdoor pools will remain open until the end of September, there are two days in the calendar that are reserved for the city’s cutest four-legged residents — and no, we’re not talking about raccoons.
Your dog is being invited to partake in free pool parties on two Sundays this month.
“Paws what you’re doing and clear your pups’ calendar. The furriest pool party of the summer is here,” the City of Toronto’s Parks and Recreation team shared on Instagram.
The dogs-only swim days are happening on Sunday, Sept. 6 and Sunday, Sept. 20 from 4:30–6:30 p.m. Each party is totally free, and reservations aren’t required. And the city means business about that dogs-only part — only dogs can be in the pool swimming, no matter how warm it is! One adult can bring up to two pups, and they need to be on the pool deck to supervise.
The only requirement for four-legged swimmers is that they have proof of rabies vaccination.
