Trader Joe's Releases Brand-New Bakery Item Fans Have Wanted For Years: 'I Hope They Stay Around'

While it’s always heartbreaking when such an event befalls out favorite Trader Joe’s bakery items, we still fervently hope that the fan-favorite grocery chain’s newest release sticks around for a long, long time.

According to various online users across social media, Trader Joe’s has recently unveiled their latest and greatest bakery item: the absolutely delicious-sounding Red Velvet Cupcakes.

A bite-sized on classic red velvet cake, Trader Joe’s Red Velvet Cupcakes feature a base of cocoa-centric red velvet cake with a healthy layer of cream cheese frosting. The resulting combination is guaranteed to leave anyone with a sweet tooth more than satisfied each time they open the package to tuck into another perfectly-wrapped cupcake.

According to Trader Joe’s website, the new dessert is currently available at nationwide store locations for just $5.49. Each pack of the cupcakes comes with four individual pastries, making it a fantastic bang for your buck.

“Some people say there’s no such thing as a bad cupcake. We won’t weigh in on absolutes—but we will say this: there are good cupcakes, and then there are great cupcakes,” the brand said of their new dessert. “Trader Joe’s Red Velvet Cupcakes are great cupcakes.”

“We found a supplier who makes some of the moistest, tastiest cupcakes we’ve ever tried, did some cupcake collaborating (a tasty gig), and now, we’re rolling out the red carpet for Red Velvet,” the company continued.

As expected, the arrival of Red Velvet Cupcakes has been met with an overwhelmingly positive response from shoppers. On Instagram, multiple shoppers chimed in with their hope to see the cupcakes become a permanent staple of Trader Joe’s.
