voco Kuching Opens as First voco Hotel in Malaysia

voco Kuching has begun welcoming guests, introducing the voco brand to Malaysia for the first time. The hotel is located in Kuching, Sarawak, minutes from Kuching International Airport, and features 321 guestrooms and suites, including premium balcony rooms and one- and two-bedroom suites with dedicated work areas and lounge spaces.

The interiors, designed by SL+A Hotels, reinterpret Sarawak’s culture and craftsmanship through contemporary design, with soft architectural curves and layered textures inspired by the local character.

Guests receive a welcome treat of Sarawak Coffee Cookies made with Gula Apong, presented in a handcrafted woven holder by local indigenous artisans. Amenities include an outdoor swimming pool with cabanas, LUMA restaurant inspired by local and global influences, and AMPM, a day-to-night café and bar.

voco Kuching offers more than 2,400 square metres of event space, including the Rainforest Ballroom, which accommodates up to 1,350 guests and is one of Kuching’s largest hotel ballrooms.

Sustainability measures at the hotel include filtered drinking water systems, premium organic bulk bath amenities from Apotheke, and pillow and duvet fillings made from recycled materials.

The opening of voco Kuching follows recent regional openings of voco hotels in Bangkok Surawong and Bandung Setiabudi. IHG Hotels & Resorts has 100 open voco hotels globally, with 13 open hotels and eight in the pipeline in Malaysia, including upcoming Regent and Vignette Collection properties.
