Zara Tindall, the eldest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, stepped out with her preteen daughter, Mia Tindall, and the pair looked smashing in matching suits.

Zara, 44, and her husband, Mike Tindall, attended the Randox Grand National Festival at Aintree Racecourse with Mia, 12, on April 10. (The couple also shares daughter Lena, born in 2018, and son Lucas, born in 2021.)

The mother-daughter fashion moment stole the show at the equestrian race. Zara sported a pastel pink suit from Me + Em with a Cefinn blouse. She paired the classy ensemble with a matching hat, Hector Lion pearl earrings, and Emmy shoes. Mia seems to be following in her mom’s fashionable footsteps. She wore her own stylish pinstripe powder blue suit, accessorized with a blue headband from Camilla Rose Millinery, silver loafers, and a silver bag.

The Tindall family has frequented horse races for years, as Zara is an Olympic silver medalist in equestrian eventing, having competed in the 2012 London Olympics as part of the Great Britain team. She performed in all three disciplines: dressage, cross-country, and show jumping.

Zara and her brother, Peter Phillips, are the children of Princess Anne and ex-husband Mark Phillips. Their parents declined to give them royal titles at the time of their births, and Zara and Peter followed suit with their own children.

Although Mia and her siblings do not carry formal HRH titles, they hold a very special place in the British royal family. Mia has been photographed hanging out with her cousins, Peter’s daughters, Savannah and Isla, as well as Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three kids, George, Charlotte, and Louis

The Tindalls definitely bring a lot of fun and energy to royal events. Whether Mia is spotted whispering secrets with Princess Charlotte or making goofy faces with Prince Louis, it’s clear her cousins adore the preteen.

When it comes to parenting, Zara is as down-to-earth as they come. She previously spoke about how she and Mike, 47, are instilling their “values” in their children and the “incredible” journey of motherhood.

“Every day there is a different dilemma or problem, but it is incredible and I do look at myself differently,” Zara said during an interview with Bella Magazine in July 2025. “My personality is coming out in the kids and there are some parts that you love and some that you don’t like. And obviously some of Mike’s as well. There is never a dull moment.”

With Zara being a professional equestrian and Mike being a former professional rugby player, the athletes want to instill things they’ve learned from their careers, including “hard work, dedication, motivation, lessons, and respect.”

“It is so easy to be distracted from that kind of thing,” she said. “So we try and work every day to make sure they get the same values that we had.”
