ETTRICK, Va. – Police in Virginia have arrested a 19-year-old Saturday in connection with a shooting outside Virginia State University residence halls that left five people injured.
What we know:
Camron Harris of Henrico was arrested on Saturday, the Chesterfield County Police announced, after officers found him hiding in a closed on campus. He was not a student at the university, according to police.
The backstory:
The shooting happened early Saturday morning. Officers responded around 1:28 a.m. to the 3300 block of Boisseau Street and found five people suffering from gunshot wounds outside VSU residence halls.
All five victims were taken to area hospitals.
One person is in critical condition. The other four sustained injuries that are not life-threatening, according to the university. The victims ranged in age from 17 to 23, according to officials.
VSU student released from hospital
Virginia State University said one of the five people shot was a VSU student.
The student suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and has since been released from the hospital.

Chesterfield County Police are leading the investigation with assistance from VSU Police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.
