TEATRO LIVE! GENERAL AUDITIONS
Teatro Live! is looking forward to meeting professional and emerging professional actors from Edmonton and the surrounding region at our upcoming General Auditions! These auditions are an opportunity for Artistic Director Farren Timoteo to become better acquainted with artists whose work he may not yet know and will help inform casting for future Teatro Live! productions.

DATES AND LOCATION
Monday, September 21, 2026: 10 AM – 5 PM
Monday, September 28, 2026: 10 AM – 5 PM
Auditions will take place in person at the Varscona Theatre. Zoom auditions and self-tapes will not be accepted.

SUBMITTING FOR AN AUDITION
We welcome submissions from adult CAEA members and emerging professional actors. We are particularly interested in meeting artists who have not previously worked with Teatro Live! or auditioned for Farren, though all eligible artists are warmly encouraged to submit.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Current and recent theatre-school graduates are welcome.

Please send the following to farren@teatrolive.com with “Teatro Live! General Audition” in the subject line:
1) A brief cover letter telling us a little about who you are
2) One PDF containing your headshot and résumé
3) Your preferred audition date, if applicable
4) Any access or scheduling considerations you would like us to know about

The submission deadline is Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. MDT.

Eligible applicants will be offered audition appointments on a first-come, first-served basis until all available spaces have been filled. If the auditions fill, additional applicants will be placed on a waitlist and contacted should a space become available.

YOUR AUDITION
Please prepare two contrasting comic monologues of no more than two minutes each. Auditions will be approximately 10 minutes long.

Choose pieces that you enjoy performing and that give us a strong sense of you as an artist. Your material does not need to come from Teatro’s upcoming season.

ABOUT TEATRO LIVE!
For 45 years, Teatro Live! has been delighting Edmonton audiences with contemporary and classic comedies, new Canadian plays, and the distinctive work of resident playwright Stewart Lemoine. General Auditions give us an opportunity to meet artists and deepen our knowledge of Edmonton’s acting community. An audition does not guarantee employment or consideration for a particular production.

OUR COMMITMENT
Teatro Live! creates and performs in amiskwaciwâskahikan, on Treaty 6 territory and within the Métis homelands. We honour the Indigenous peoples who have lived, created, and thrived on this land for thousands of years, and we honour the spirit and intent of Treaty 6: that we live alongside one another harmoniously, as good neighbours. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to continue the tradition of storytelling on this land.

We welcome submissions from artists of all backgrounds and lived experiences. We strongly encourage submissions from Indigenous, Black, racialized, 2SLGBTQIA+, Deaf, disabled, and neurodivergent artists, as well as artists from other communities historically underrepresented on Canadian stages. We are committed to creating an accessible and welcoming audition process.
