Harrison Ford has spent decades playing men who don’t crack easily. Han Solo, Indiana Jones, a string of steely presidents and CIA operatives. So when Cookie Monster got the famously gruff 84-year-old actor to hum along to John Williams‘ Indiana Jones theme while snacking on cookies, the internet noticed immediately.
The clip, taken behind the scenes during Ford’s visit to Sesame Street earlier this year, shows Cookie Monster recognizing the melody mid-bite. “Me think me know this song,” the Muppet says before starting to hum it himself. Ford, initially playing along with his own version of a scene-stealing grump, drops the act and joins in.
Cookie Monster posted the clip online this week, and it quickly gathered more than 2.5 million views. Reactions poured in from viewers who couldn’t quite believe the pairing. “Everytime I think that Harrison Ford is a big old grump, he does something like this,” wrote one commenter. Another put it more simply: “I didn’t think I could love Harrison Ford more, and then this happens.” Another said that seeing the two together “was NOT on my 2026 Bingo Card,” while Amy Nadine Ellis called them “the duo we didn’t know we needed.”

Several commenters connected the moment to Ford’s current TV role. “Before watching Shrinking, I would have thought this out of character for Harrison,” wrote a fan. “Now I know it’s the best side of him!” Gary Green had a similar read, writing that Ford “let the grumpy guy mask slip there” because “he was enjoying that too much.”

Ford’s trip to Sesame Street came as part of a larger crossover between the Muppets and the cast of Shrinking, the Apple TV+ comedy in which Ford plays retired therapist Paul Rhoades. Jason Segel, Brett Goldstein, Jessica Williams, Christa Miller, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, Ted McGinley and Sherry Cola all taped segments with Sesame Street regulars including Elmo, Big Bird, Grover, Abby Cadabby and Oscar the Grouch, released across May and June. It marked the first time Sesame Street had shot with an entire ensemble cast from one show.
The pairing comes as Ford’s Indiana Jones legacy is getting fresh attention anyway. He first played the character in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark, returning for Temple of Doom, Last Crusade, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and 2023’s Dial of Destiny. Disney recently confirmed Ford’s likeness will appear in a new Indiana Jones ride under construction at Disney World’s Animal Kingdom, with Ford serving as the model for the attraction’s animatronic figure.
But that’s not why people are replaying the clip over and over. Let’s be honest, it’s Ford eating that COOKIE!
