IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a franchise agreement for Garner Hotel Ahmedabad Motera, a 40-key hotel scheduled to open in 2029.
IHG Hotels & Resorts signed the agreement Sept. 1, 2026. Devpriya Buildcon will develop the hotel, and United Hospitality Management India will manage it. The agreement marks the first signing for the Garner brand in Ahmedabad.
Garner Hotel Ahmedabad Motera will be located at the Motera-Sabarmati junction in North Ahmedabad, near Narendra Modi Stadium, the Sabarmati Bullet Train hub and corporate districts. The hotel will be part of a mixed-use development including retail, banquet and restaurant facilities, as well as a hospital.
The hotel is planned to have 40 rooms. Garner is a midscale conversion brand in India. Its guest offering includes a convenient location, a night’s sleep and breakfast, along with IHG quality standards, enterprise systems and rewards ecosystem.
The signing expands IHG’s relationship with United Hospitality Management India, a third-party hotel management partner in the country.
The signing adds Garner to IHG’s Ahmedabad portfolio, which includes Crowne Plaza Ahmedabad City Centre and Holiday Inn Express Ahmedabad Prahlad Nagar. Holiday Inn Ahmedabad is in the pipeline.
Ahmedabad has economic and industrial activity across pharmaceuticals, textiles, information technology, infrastructure and corporate headquarters. The city has also seen investment in sports and transport infrastructure.
IHG has 53 hotels operating across six brands in India: Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza, voco Hotels, Holiday Inn Resort and Holiday Inn Express. It has a pipeline of 110 hotels due to open in the next three to five years.
