Snacking on Goldfish crackers is about to be a whole lot more fulfilling.
As health trends like protein and fiber-maxxing remain steady, the iconic goldfish-shaped cracker has taken note and is launching a handful of new varieties aimed at satisfying both cravings and lifestyle goals this fall.
This morning, the beloved Pepperidge Farm snack brand announced the upcoming store debut of an entirely new line and a revamped collection of whole-grain crackers set to hit shelves later this season. Each collection brings two flavors, meaning Goldfish fans are about to find four new snacks smiling back at them.
Goldfish Debuts New Protein Cracker Collection in 2 Classic Flavors, Revamps Its Whole Grain Line
“Protein has become a bigger priority for many families, whether it’s after school, between activities or on the go,” Tiphanie Maronta, senior vice president at Goldfish Crackers, shared in a statement. Maronta explained that the new recipe is the brand’s “way of meeting that need with a snack that’s both delicious and familiar,” suggesting the cracker recreates the “iconic Goldfish experience people love” while adding more protein.
And when Goldfish says more, the company means it.

According to a fact sheet shared directly with Parade, the new Goldfish contain 6 grams of protein per serving—double that of one serving of its classic crackers.
From what we’re told, the new protein crackers will be available in two popular flavors: Cheddar and Pizza, each launching in 6.6-oz pouches for a suggested retail price of $3.99 starting this October.
Goldfish
As we teased earlier, protein isn’t the only macro Goldfish is counting, as the family-favorite baked cracker brand looks to appeal to consumers seeking more fiber in their diet with its “new and improved” Whole Grain line (which typically contains more fiber than refined grains).
What exactly was changed in the recipe was not immediately clear, as each serving still contains 12 grams of whole grains, but we do know that it’s heading to shelves around the same time and in the same 6.6-oz bags (for the same suggested retail price of $3.99) as the higher protein Goldfish and in two flavors:
- New and improved Cheddar Whole Grain flavor
- The brand’s first-ever Pretzel Whole Grain
Goldfish’s debut protein line and new and improved whole-grain recipe are expected to be on shelves at Walmart and other grocery stores in the coming weeks, before expanding to retailers nationwide in early 2027 (prices may vary). Which are you trying first? Let us know in the comments!
