Hard Rock Hotel Malta has opened in St. George’s Bay, marking Hard Rock’s first hotel in Malta. The opening was marked by a guitar smash ceremony attended by nearly 2,000 guests, including Maltese Prime Minister Robert Abela, Silvio Debono, chairman of DB Group, and Holly Tiger, vice chairwoman for the Seminole Tribe of Florida and president of Seminole Tribe of Florida Inc.

The hotel is located in St. George’s Bay, 20 minutes from the airport. The Mosta Rotunda and Rabat Catacombs are a short drive from the property.
The opening represents a €350 million direct investment in Malta’s tourism sector and has created several hundred jobs across specialized roles, including mixologists, culinary staff, wellness therapists and hospitality staff.
The property has 397 rooms, a rooftop cantilever pool, a beach club and 11 swimming pools. Its meeting and event facilities include a 466-square-meter ballroom.
Hard Rock Hotel Malta has more than 10 restaurant, bar, lounge and club venues. The property also includes Hard Rock Cafe St. Julian’s Malta, a 1,400-square-meter venue with indoor and outdoor seating for 222 guests, a restaurant and bar, Rock Shop and music memorabilia collection.
The hotel’s wellness and fitness area covers 3,800 square meters. Rock Spa occupies almost 4,000 square meters and offers Rhythm & Motion, a music-centered spa menu. Other facilities and programs include Body Rock, described as Hard Rock’s workout facility, and Rock Om, an in-room yoga experience.
The grand opening event included performances by Aiden, identified as Malta’s Eurovision 2026 representative; Ira Losco; and Shaun Farrugia. The program also included an artistic swimming performance in the hotel’s guitar-shaped pool and a DJ set by J Joy.
