Hilton and Scandic Hotels Group have entered a multi-year development agreement covering Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. The agreement concerns individual development opportunities across the four markets and does not involve a broad conversion of Scandic’s existing portfolio.

The first hotel announced under the agreement is a 284-room Hilton Hotels & Resorts property at Scanport, adjacent to Copenhagen Airport in Denmark. Scandic will operate the hotel under a franchise agreement with Hilton. The hotel is expected to open in 2029.

Construction at the Scanport site is expected to begin after remaining conditions are met. The hotel will include a restaurant and bar, meeting and event facilities, wellness amenities, a fitness area and an executive lounge overlooking the Öresund Strait.

Hilton and Scandic also plan to introduce benefits for members of the Hilton Honors and Scandic Friends loyalty programs. Further details are to be announced later.

Three Hilton Hotels & Resorts properties operate in Helsinki: Hilton Helsinki Airport, Hilton Helsinki Strand and Hilton Helsinki Kalastajatorppa. Scandic operates the Helsinki hotels under franchise arrangements with Hilton.

Plans are underway to renovate Hilton Helsinki Airport through a multi-phase refurbishment program intended to modernize key guest-facing areas.
