If you’re the friend who has the impossible task of picking a date where everyone is free, or has to chase everyone for their passport details, we’ve got some good news for you.

Travel booking platform Klook has launched a global search for five underappreciated trip planners, offering a fully hosted seven-day trip to Switzerland as a thank-you.

The contest follows some new research from Klook, which surveyed 2,725 travellers across 10 countries. It found that travel planning ranks among the least thanked tasks people do for others. So if you’ve ever felt like planning a holiday requires more effort than your paid job, you’re not alone.

Eight in 10 respondents said organising a single trip can take upwards of 10 hours, and even when someone else agrees to take over the planning, 42 percent admitted they still can’t switch off, quietly and anxiously monitoring the process from the sidelines.

‘We built Klook to make travel planning simpler, so travellers can spend less time on admin and more time on experiences,’ said Marcus Yong, Klook’s VP of Global Marketing, according to euronews. ‘Now we’re taking that promise one step further with a fully-planned getaway for five travel planners who always get travel right for their friends and families. It’s their turn to take a vacation from planning vacations.’

Five winners will be selected for the seven-day trip this December, complete with return flights, premium accommodation, curated activities and a plus-one, all pre-planned and covered by Klook.

To enter, you can nominate yourself or a fellow planner with a written summary of up to 300 words detailing a trip you organised and the challenges you overcame along the way.

Entrants need to be at least 21, hold a valid passport, meet Switzerland’s entry requirements, and be comfortable having their journey filmed as part of Klook’s campaign. Entries close on August 31, 2026. Head to the official website to apply.
