A Huntsville, Alabama, middle school theatre teacher has been placed on administrative leave following his arrest on a child solicitation charge.

Joshua Feemster was arrested on September 4 and charged with electronic solicitation of a child, according to records from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency was listed as the arresting agency.

Feemster was booked into the Madison County Jail shortly before 6 p.m. and later released after posting a $15,000 bond. Authorities have not publicly released additional information about the allegations or the circumstances that led to his arrest.

Feemster is a theatre teacher and director at the Academy for Academics and Arts Middle School, part of Huntsville City Schools. In 2023, the district credited Feemster as the academy’s theatre director when announcing that the school had been named a Premier Community for Theatre Education. His work also extended into community theatre. Most recently, he directed Bank Street Players’ July 2026 production of School of Rock: The Musical at the Princess Theatre in Decatur.
