“From 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York, it’s Late Night with Seth Meyers!“
It was announced on Tuesday that the beloved talk show, Late Night with Seth Meyers, is returning for its Season 14 premiere next Monday, Sept. 21, with special guest Kelly Clarkson. Her appearance will come three weeks after she wrapped her seven-season run on The Kelly Clarkson Show, which aired its final episode on August 31. Meanwhile, this is Meyers’ first show in seven weeks, the longest the show has been dark (not including the 2023 WGA strike, which took place from April to October).
So far, no other celebrity guests or musical performances have been announced, but usually, Meyers invites two guests for interviews.

This marks the first episode back since July 30, when the Saturday Night Live alum interviewed Timothy Olyphant and Cooper Hoffman, as well as taped a segment of A Closer Look, where he mocked President Donald Trump for claiming he didn’t understand the word “affordability,” despite using it as a central campaign promise.
Though his full show wasn’t airing on NBC for the whole month of August, Meyers launched a special video podcast version called A Closer Look Out of Office, where he is joined by his writer and producer, Sal Gentile, and they unpack major current events and news stories together. Episodes were posted twice a week on YouTube.
In addition, Meyers performed nearly a dozen stand-up shows across the Northeast, including the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival, a live benefit show in Martha’s Vineyard, and two back-to-back sets at the Nantucket Performing Arts Center in Massachusetts. He is also set to perform at the Beacon Theater in New York City with John Oliver on Sept. 27, as well as continue his tour around the country during the fall and late January.
Born in Illinois and raised in New Hampshire, Meyers started his comedy career while he was a student at Northwestern University, where he majored in film and was a part of the school’s improv sketch group, the Mee-Ow Show. After performing for various comedy groups around Chicago and even in the Netherlands, Meyers joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in 2001, serving as a Weekend Update anchor and head writer during his tenure. He left SNL in February 2014 after 13 years on the show to host Late Night.
Late Night with Seth Meyers films in front of a live audience inside 30 Rockefeller Plaza in Midtown Manhattan every weekday except Fridays in Studio 8G. New episodes will air on NBC starting Sept. 21 at 12:35 am ET. Episodes are available for streaming the next day on Peacock.
