According to CoStar’s latest data, U.S. hotel occupancy reached 68%, up 2.6% year over year, for the week of Aug. 9-15. Average daily rate increased 3.5% to $163.56, while revenue per available room rose 6.2% to $111.29.
The results marked the industry’s 18th consecutive week of positive year-over-year comparisons.
Among the Top 25 Markets, San Diego recorded the highest increases in average daily rate and RevPAR. ADR rose 12.6% to $249.71, while RevPAR increased 22.8% to $201.10. LPL Focus 2026 and concerts by Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan contributed to the market’s performance.
Tampa posted the only double-digit occupancy increase among the Top 25 Markets, with occupancy rising 11.7% to 64.9%. RevPAR increased 17.5% to $96.55, the second-highest gain in the group. The market hosted the DoDIIS Worldwide Conference and a Mötley Crüe concert.
