Now that Thanksgiving weekend is coming to an end, it’s officially time to start planning your week. There’s a lot happening around Calgary over the next few days, and we’ve picked out 10 things worth adding to your plans.

Whether you’re looking for something to do after work, want to check out a Halloween event, or just need an excuse to get out of the house, this list has something for you.

Let’s take a further look at what’s filling up this week’s calendar.

Evil Dead: The Musical is coming to Alberta Theatre Projects and follows five college students who accidentally unleash a demonic force while staying at a cabin in the woods.

When: Tuesday, Oct. 13 to Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026
Time: 7:30 to 10 p.m.
Where: 215 8th Ave. SE, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Starting at $35 per person

Wordfest’s Imaginarium Festival is a six-day literary event featuring author talks, live storytelling, and conversations with writers. A variety of events will take place throughout the week, with something different each day.

When: Tuesday, Oct. 13 to Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026
Time: Times vary
Where: Calgary Public Library – 1221 2nd St. SW, Calgary, Alta
Cost: $250 per person

This week, you can experience live music, food and stargazing during Symphony Under the Stars in Jasper. Set along the shores of Lac Beauvert during Jasper’s annual Dark Sky Festival, the limited-capacity experience features a performance by the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra alongside elevated culinary offerings.

When: Friday, Oct. 15 to Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026
Time: 5 to 10 p.m.
Where: Fairmont Jasper Lodge – 1 Old Lodge Rd., Jasper, Alta.
Cost: Concert only: $135 plus fees, Dinner and Concert: $399 plus fees, Weekend Package: Starting at $999, Starlight Experience: $635 per person

With Halloween getting closer, there’s no better time to spend an evening exploring Calgary’s haunted history. Heritage Park is hosting Fall Ghost Tours, where you can walk the historic grounds after dark and hear ghost stories tied to its buildings.

When: Tuesday, Oct. 13 to Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026
Time: 7 to 9:30 p.m.
Where: Heritage Park – 1900 Heritage Dr. SW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: $24.95 plus GST

UB40 is stopping in Calgary this week, bringing decades of reggae and pop hits to the stage. You can expect to hear some of the band’s biggest songs, including “Red Red Wine” and “Kingston Town.”

Time: 8 p.m.
Where: Grey Eagle Resort and Casino – 3775 Grey Eagle Dr. SW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Starting at $71.80

The Under $200 Art Show is returning to Calgary with artwork from 70 of the top-selling artists from Alberta’s Under $100 Shows. You’ll be able to find everything from paintings and photography to ceramics and handmade accessories.

When: Thursday, Oct. 15 to Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026
Time: 4:30 to 8 p.m.
Where: 1111 9th Ave. SE, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Starting at $15 per person

Enjoy dinner with a side of mystery at Reunion With Murder, an interactive murder mystery where you can play detective or sit back and watch the story unfold. The evening also includes a three-course Maharashtrian Indian meal and a drink.

Time: 4:30 to 8 p.m.
Where: 1209 9th Ave. SE, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: $73.50 per person

TELUS Spark is hosting an evening dedicated to Indigenous science, stories, and the stars. Expect everything from telescope viewings and planetarium experiences, along with a chance to learn from Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers.

When: Friday, Oct. 16, 2026
Time: 5 to 11 p.m.
Where: TELUS Spark Science Centre – 220 St. George’s Dr. NE, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Starting at $5 per person

You can get a taste of the East Coast without leaving Calgary this Friday at the East Coast Kitchen Party. The event will feature live Celtic rock from Low Tide, an East Coast-inspired buffet, dancing and sing-alongs throughout the evening.

Time: 6 to 11 p.m.

Head down to the Saddledome this weekend to cheer on the Calgary Hitmen as they take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
