January is just flying by, but Toronto is enjoying it as much as possible! So far, the month has brought a ton of events and things to do across Toronto. To help you plan, we’ve rounded up the best things to do. Get ready for a fun-filled week.

It’s the last day to check out the Herbal Essences Pure Plants collection! If you’re like us and love some freebies, everyone who stops by will get a free mini succulent and an Herbal Essences coupon. Oh, and the first 100 visitors each day will take home a full‑size Eucalyptus Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner. Not a bad way to spend a Monday!

Time: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: 45 Ossington Ave., Toronto, Ont.
Cost: Free

Though we’re already a few days into the event, it doesn’t end until Jan. 25, 2026. Which means you have more than enough time to enjoy North America’s largest indoor boat show. It brings new and exciting experiences every year, so don’t miss out!

When: Jan. 17 to 25, 2026
Time: Hours vary
Where: Enercare Centre, Exhibition Place — 100 Princes’ Blvd., Toronto, Ont.
Cost: $26+

Every Tuesday from 4 to 10 p.m., guests can enjoy half-price sushi rolls and $5 Sapporo. Girls’ night out, date night, whatever the occasion may be, The Drake is calling.

When: Tuesdays
Time: 4 to 10 p.m.
Where: The Drake Hotel — 1150 Queen St. W.
Cost: Half-price sushi, $5 beer

Do you love Ilya and Shane as much as we do? Well, it’s time to put your knowledge to the test with a Heated Rivalry trivia night at Snakes & Lattes.

When: Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026
Time: 7 to 10 p.m.
Where: Snakes & Lattes – 600 Bloor St. W.
Cost: $15.94 per ticket

Skate, dance, have fun!

Hangar Skate is free to attend, and there’s music and a few other festivities you can enjoy while you’re there. Stop by every Friday for DJ Skate Nights.

When: Fridays
Time: 5 to 9 p.m.
Where: YZD Experience Centre – 34 Hanover Rd.
Cost: Free admission

DesignTO Festival returns to the city this month, bringing Canada’s largest annual celebration of design to the streets. Toronto will transform into a citywide artistic playground this January, and this year, it’s sure to spark some imagination.

Starting Jan. 23, 2026 and for 10 days thereafter, DesignTO will decorate the streets with creations that “inspire you to feel through interaction, immersion, wonder and surprise.”

When: Jan. 23 to Feb. 1, 2026
Where: Across Toronto and online
Cost: Free unless otherwise stated

Enjoy the annual festival of contemporary music by the University of Toronto. Expect 10 days of concerts, workshops and master classes as the team celebrates new music.

When: Jan. 23 to Feb. 3, 2026
Time: Varies depending on concert
Where: Various venues
Cost: Free and ticketed

The Bentway is a figure loop rink under the Gardiner. It’s easy to get to, and it’s free to enjoy.

When: Until Feb. 16, 2026
Time: 5 to 9 p.m., weekdays
Where: The Bentway – 250 Fort York Blvd.
Cost: Free admission

According to the Ace Hotel, “Guests are invited to settle into a chic new alpine vibe at the Ace’s rooftop hotspot, complete with twinkling lights, blazing fireplaces, and warm blankets for snuggling indoors or out on the terrace.”

When: Until Feb. 28, 2026
Time: Reservations available Sunday through Thursday
Where: The Ace Hotel – 51 Camden St.
Cost: Varies

Who’s ready to party? Mott 32 has launched its special Friday-night-only DJ series that you don’t want to miss out on.
