After a chinook brought some warm winds to the city last week, things are looking pretty balmy and bright here in Calgary. We’ve got our fingers crossed the heat lasts, and in the meantime, there’s plenty going on around town to keep you occupied.

From live music to theatre, here are the ten best things to do in Calgary this Jan. 12 to 16 week.

For three weeks every January, a wide collection of performers from near and far converge on Calgary to create unforgettable experiences.

Buckle up for a rapid-fire night of storytelling where every second counts.

Where: Martha Cohen Theatre — 215 8th Ave. SE, Calgary

Men I Trust, a Canadian indie band formed in 2014, has quietly but profoundly left its mark on the music scene. Comprising Emma Proulx (guitar and vocals), Jessy Caron (guitar and bass), and Dragos Chiriac (keyboards), the trio’s enchanting sound, blending dream pop and indie elements, resonates with a global audience.

DOT is a surrealist puppet show that will take you on a journey from the molecular to galactic.

Capitol Hill Community Association will host a one-of-a-kind, all-ages illusions and magic spectacular featuring Calgary performer Robert Wong.

Step into a world where emotion takes form and the feminine body becomes both the question and answer. TD AMPLIFY: Episode 1 unites three distinct yet intertwined forces — the emotional alt-pop spectacle of SHY FRiEND, the dark, abstract physicality of Sierra Oszust, and the genre-defying live art and contemporary drama of Murmur Theatre’s Rita Rebetskaya and Polina Káulio.

The Orchestra and conductor Tristan Rais-Sherman celebrate some of the most iconic film scores of all time from Grammy and Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer.

Banff and Lake Louise will come alive this January with SnowDays, a vibrant celebration that will transform the streets of the mountain resort town into a true winter wonderland.
