Are you ready for this weekend in Edmonton?

There are loads of things to do this weekend in Edmonton, considering it’s a holiday, as well as the long weekend. If you’re ready to put some love in your heart and have some fun, we’ve rounded up some good events, maybe even the best.

Get ready for a weekend full of love, everybody!

In January and February, you can check out a long list of DJ performances, free skating, free dancing, and so much more. If you’re looking to get out into the city to start the year, these weekends will have you covered.

Where: Sir Winston Churchill Square — 100th St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.

The Silver Skate Festival is a 10-day family-oriented festival in Edmonton, combining arts, culture, sports, and recreation. From skating on the city’s best surfaces to gazing upon the magnificent fire sculptures, this festival has it all. You can even participate in one of many competitions, like Western Canada’s Oldest Winter Triathlon.

When: Now until Monday, Feb. 16, 2026

Whether you’re celebrating Galentine’s or Valentine’s, gather your gals or partner and treat yourselves to a sweat session at Orangetheory Fitness Edmonton this upcoming weekend, with a special Crush Hour workout on Feb. 14. Expect feel-good movement, upbeat music, and a coach-led class that leaves you glowing inside and out. Whether you are coming with friends or flying solo, it is a fun, empowering way to kick off the weekend and do something just for you.

Friday Night Trivia is hosted each week at Telus World of Science’s Purple Pear Restaurant. This event is not only free but also family-friendly, so everyone can participate and compete.

For three days, you can anticipate Canada’s premier classic cross-country ski festival, the Canadian Birkie Ski Festival. Here, you can compete, focus onbuilding strength and endurance, and experience the best way to embrace the winter.

The International Festival of Winter Cinema is officially in its ninth year, and this being its third year, it’s in its new location: Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park. This festival is currently running in partnership with the Silver Skate Festival, a 10-day family-oriented festival in Edmonton, combining arts, culture, sports, and recreation.

When: Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, to Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026

This book-ish themed event has all the activities for those romance readers in the area. Go on a blind date with a book, explore all the romantic vendors, and so much more.

The Muttart Conservatory will host an extended after-hours evening for Valentine’s Day, only for adults 18 and above. Not only will you be able to walk amongst the beautiful plants, but local artist Dana Wylie will be playing music to create an intimate atmosphere.

Two international choreographers have made their way to Edmonton to debut this incredible contemporary ballet piece.
