Summer is officially kicking off in Calgary this weekend, and the city is wasting no time filling up the calendar. Festivals, live music, sports, and outdoor events are popping up all over the place, making it hard to stay in. With Father’s Day taking place on Sunday, June 21, it’s also the perfect opportunity to plan a weekend outing with a little extra meaning.

We’ve rounded up some of the best things to do around the city this weekend so you can skip the searching and jump straight into plans.

Let’s jump into it.

Bourbon Nights returns to Beddington Co-op Wine, Spirits, Beer for an evening of smooth pours and even smoother storytelling. You can expect guided tasting featuring a lineup of unique bourbons, with insights into aging, flavour profiles and learn what makes each pour distinct.

When: Friday, June 19, 2026
Time: 7 to 9 p.m.
Where: 8220 Centre St. NE, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: $54.31

Heritage Park is hosting a special Indigenous History Celebration featuring powwows, campfire chats, live demonstrations, and plenty of hands-on activities to explore throughout the weekend. It’s a great way to immerse yourself in Indigenous history and culture in an engaging, hands-on way.

When: Saturday, June 20, 2026, and Sunday, June 21, 2026
Time: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Heritage Park – 1900 Heritage Dr. SW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: General Admission starting at $27.95 (Free for self-identifying Indigenous individuals), After Party starting at $14.95

Make Father’s Day one to remember at The Hangar Flight Museum. The Wings and Wheels event brings together a showcase of vintage aircraft and classic cars for a full day of exploring.

Visitors can walk through the vehicle show and shine, take part in aviation-themed crafts, and step inside select aircraft to get a closer look at the cockpit and flight deck.

When: Saturday, June 20, 2026, and Sunday, June 21, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: The Hangar Flight Museum – 4629 McCall Way NE, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Adults, $17; Children, $9; Fathers, Free

All Sport One Day by Sport Calgary is giving youth ages six to 17 the chance to try a new sport for free. The event will offer hands-on sessions in activities like fencing, tennis, ultimate frisbee, track, cycling and more.

When: Saturday, June 20, 2026
Time: 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: WinSport – Canada Olympic Rd. SW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Free

The Calgary Greek Festival returns for a full day of Greek culture, food, and music at the Hellenic Community Hall. There will be authentic Greek dishes, traditional dancing, and a lively atmosphere celebrating community and heritage.

When: Saturday, June 20, 2026
Time: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: 1 Tamarac Cres. SW, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: Free admission

Watercolour in the Garden at the Confluence is your opportunity to get creative in a peaceful setting surrounded by nature. Throughout the 90-minute session, you’ll learn beginner techniques led by an instructor, making it easy to follow along even if you’ve never painted before.

When: Saturday, June 20, 2026
Time: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Where: The Confluence – 750 9th Ave. SE, Calgary, Alta.
Cost: $25 (includes all materials)

The Stampeders will face off against the Roughriders at McMahon Stadium in a must-watch game full of energy, intensity, and a packed crowd.

Barenaked Ladies are bringing an intimate concert to Spruce Meadows for a special all-ages night inside the Equi-Plex. The band will perform fan favourites like “One Week” and “If I Had $1,000,000” in a setting that feels far more personal than a typical arena show.

Ne-Yo and Akon hit the Saddledome for a night packed with R&B throwbacks, club favourites, and straight-up nostalgic hits. Expect a packed arena as they run through some of their biggest tracks, with a crowd that will be singing along from start to finish.

Celebrate Father’s Day at The Military Museums on June 21 with a hands-on day of tank tours, cockpit access, gear try-ons, and an outdoor obstacle course. There will also be a beer garden and plenty of family-friendly activities to make it the perfect day for your dad.
