Don’t let the foggy, freezing weather get you down. There’s a lot to look forward to this upcoming week, from Moulin Rouge to Shoresy Classic, to plenty of shows and activities in between. Here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this week (Jan. 26-30).

Moulin Rouge! is a Tony Award-winning musical full of glitz and glamour, based on Baz Luhrmann’s iconic film. Directed by Alex Timbers, this incredible Broadway Across Canada performance is full of fun and surprises, and is not to be missed if you love live theatre.

When: Jan. 20 to 26, 2026
Time: Showtimes at 2 and 7:30 p.m.

Vancouver Canucks

This week, the ‘Nucks are facing off against the Anaheim Ducks and the San Jose Sharks. Don’t forget to wear blue and white, and bring the crowd energy!

Where: 800 Griffiths Way

The Pop-Up Natural Perfumes and Art Experience by Artei Phire will be a sensory journey, where fragrance, art and human connection meet.

Step into an immersive space dedicated to well-being, self-expression, and nature. Let scent, creativity, and unexpected moments awaken your senses.

You’ll experience an Open Mic Poetry/slam session and have access to a natural perfume creation Kit or perfume mini bottles. This event is about balance and well-being. Snacks and drinks will be available.

This is more than an event, it’s a shared experience for lovers of: natural perfumes, self-care, art, poetry and human connection.

Head to Rogers Arena before the Canucks games for Shoresy Classic, a celebration of hockey through comedy and a story of northern grit. The game brings together the show’s cast, celebrity players, and hockey pros for a night pf laughs and action on the ice.

Some of the world’s best improvisers are coming to Vancouver for this international comedy festival, so if you’re in need of a good laugh, you’ll find no shortage of them here! Each show that’s part of the festival (Jan. 27-31, 2026) includes interactive games that showcase a visiting troupe’s comedic style.

Vancouver is not exactly known for dominating the third space scene, but this recurring event aims to change that. January’s Third Space Night is not just about finding community, but building it. Guests will imagine the kind of communities they want to be part of and explore, together, how to bring those visions to life.

If you’re feeling uninspired lately and seeking community connection, this has your name written all over it!

Founded over two decades ago, B.C.’s signature cultural event (PuSh) is a mid-winter celebration of all things bold and creative. The showcase brings together local, national, and international artists alike for a series of immersive shows and workshops, and there are all kinds of mediums and subject matters to explore.

Ticket prices vary per show, but you can snag a four or six-show pass to take advantage of any handful that catch your eye.

When: Jan. 22 to Feb. 8, 2026

Cost: Varies per show, or $120 for a four-show pass or $165 for a six-show pass

Howe Sound Taphouse is hosting a Paint and Sip night this week, complete with all the materials you’ll need to create your own masterpiece. Plus, drinks and snacks will be available for purchase at the taphouse.

Where: 2321 Main St.
Cost: $21.03 for two

Canada’s largest food and drink festival is nearly back, and there are hundreds of participating restaurants to choose from this year. The festival showcases curated, fixed-price menus spanning everything from inventive seafood plates to vegan fare, to a dumpling festival. The festival is a great way to check out a new dining hot spot or place you’ve had your eye on for a while without breaking the bank.

When: Jan. 21 to Feb. 8, 2026
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Where: 1502 Duranleau St. 
Cost: $15 to $25 per person

Vancouver’s beloved Hot Chocolate Fest is back this January, and you’ll have almost a month to try warm, decadent sips at cafes and bakeries across Metro Vancouver. This year, there are 234 different flavours and 100 vendors to choose from.

When: Jan. 17 to Feb. 14, 2026

Where: Participating locations across Metro Vancouver
Cost: Free admission

Metro Vancouver’s largest free outdoor winter lights display is in Coquitlam, and it features a 1.6 km lit pathway lined with adorable holiday displays. Running until Feb. 16, 2026, you’ve got plenty of time to check it out.

The City of Coquitlam recommends visiting on weekdays or during off-peak hours, between 6 and 8 p.m., for the best viewing experience.
