2010 Hit Film Based on a Book About Real Events Is One of the 'Greatest Movies of the Century'

30 April 20262 Mins Read

The cultural impact of The Social Network goes far beyond the big screen.

Directed by David Fincher, the 2010 film is based on the real-life story of Mark Zuckerberg and the creation of the social networking site that would come to be known as Facebook. It was adapted from the 2009 book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal by Ben Mezrich.

But not only was The Social Network a massive critical and commercial success, but it’s also regarded as one of the top movies of the entire century, according to the New York Times.
