Someone in Toronto could be sitting on a $40-million lottery ticket without even knowing it, but they’re running out of time to claim their fortune.
The OLG is issuing a last-minute warning about an unclaimed $40-million Lotto Max jackpot from the Oct. 28, 2025, draw. The winning ticket expires tonight, Oct. 28, exactly one year after the draw.
According to the OLG, the ticket was purchased at an authorized retailer in Grey County, which is just northwest of Toronto, but there’s a chance the lucky ticket holder doesn’t even live in the area.
“Grey County is part of the Georgian Triangle and encompasses various communities including Owen Sound, Meaford, The Blue Mountains, Flesherton, Markdale, Durham, and Hanover,” the OLG said in its release. “As Grey County is a popular destination for tourists and cottagers, someone visiting the area may have purchased the ticket and forgotten to check it after returning home.”
The winning numbers from the Oct. 28, 2025, draw are 06, 14, 17, 19, 26, 43 and 45, with bonus number 27.
The OLG is encouraging anyone who visited the area around that time to search through old wallets, jacket pockets, handbags, glove compartments and anywhere else a forgotten lottery ticket might be hiding!
If you believe you have the winning ticket, contact the OLG at 1-800-387-0098 or visit its unclaimed tickets page to begin the claims process.
According to reports, the OLG is already reviewing about 50 claims, so it could take some time to determine whether the prize has been successfully claimed. But if no valid claim is established before the deadline, the $40 million would become Canada’s second-largest unclaimed lottery prize, behind a $70-million Lotto Max ticket sold in Scarborough in 2022.
Any unclaimed prize money will eventually be returned to players through future bonus games or promos.
