IHG to Launch New Hotels in Major Chinese Cities by Mid-2026

IHG Hotels & Resorts will open several new hotels in Greater China during the first half of 2026, including properties in Chongqing, Huzhou, Hefei, Ningbo, Jinan, Nanjing, Taipei, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Beijing.

IHG Hotels & Resorts announced it will open a series of new hotels in Greater China in the first half of 2026. The company currently has more than 1,400 open and pipeline hotels across over 200 cities in the region.

The upcoming openings include TFT Chongqing Vignette Collection in Chongqing’s core urban area, InterContinental Huzhou South Taihu, Atwell Hefei Downtown, Holiday Inn Resort Ningbo Ninghai, Holiday Inn Jinan Daming Lake, and Holiday Inn Express Nanjing Confucius Temple. These properties are intended to expand IHG’s presence in both established and emerging cities, including tier-one and tier-two locations.

In addition, InterContinental Taipei and Holiday Inn Shanghai Tourism Zone are scheduled to open in the first half of 2026. InterContinental Taipei will be located near Taipei Dome, and Holiday Inn Shanghai Tourism Zone will be situated near Shanghai Disney Resort. Both hotels are positioned to serve travelers seeking leisure and entertainment experiences.

THE ONE Shanghai Downtown Vignette Collection is set to open adjacent to Shanghai’s core commercial and lifestyle districts. Kimpton Shanghai 9 Tree Art Center will open in a suburban area, targeting guests interested in nature, arts, and culture.

Further openings include Palm Springs Hotel Chengdu Vignette Collection in Chengdu, Hotel Indigo Chongqing Chaotianmen in Chongqing, and voco Beijing Temple of Heaven in Beijing. These hotels are designed to incorporate local cultural elements into their design and guest experience.

IHG’s expansion in the first half of 2026 will add to its existing portfolio of 13 brands in Greater China. The company’s strategy includes diversifying its offerings across different city tiers and travel occasions, with a focus on both short and extended stays.

No additional details regarding the number of rooms or specific opening dates for each property were provided.
