Canada’s highest suspension bridge is in B.C. and here’s when it opens for the season

26 January 20263 Mins Read

If heights and exploring vast, open spaces thrill you, the Golden Skybridge in B.C. is a must-visit. It’s considered Canada’s highest suspension bridge, and it’s not too early to mark your calendars for the 2026 season.

Known for its breathtaking scenery in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Golden is a dream to visit any time of year, whether you’re skiing at the world-class Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, embarking on a heli-ski tour, or exploring one of the six stunning national parks at its doorstep (Banff, Glacier, Jasper, Kootenay, Mount Revelstoke and Yoho).

And for those who enjoy a healthy dose of adrenaline pumping through them, the Skybridge has plenty to offer. Sitting over 400 feet above an expansive canyon, the attraction consists of two bridges, both offering unparalleled views of the Columbia Valley and the Rocky and Purcell mountains.

Canada’s largest mountain coaster

Visitors can also take a ride through the lush forest from above via the Railrider Mountain Coaster, Canada’s largest mountain coaster, or soar through the sky on a zipline, or even try their hand at axe-throwing.

There are also three kilometres of scenic walking trails to roam at your leisure, a mini adventure park for families, and casual bites at an outdoor dining area.

“The bridges and walking trails at Golden Skybridge are perfect for all abilities,” reads the Skybridge’s website. “If you’re looking to amp up the thrill factor, check out our zipline, ropes course, mountain coaster, and canyon swing.”

According to its socials, Golden Skybridge is set to reopen for the season on May 1, 2026, though you don’t have to wait a day to purchase a ticket or pass in early May 2025, with tickets available for purchase online starting Friday, May 2, 2025.

When does the Golden Skybridge open for the 2026 season?

A Bridge Pass ($47 per adult, $30.54 per child) gets you access to the Skybridge, while an Adventure Pass ($107 per adult, $47.77 per child) adds access to the Railrider Mountain Coaster, the Canyon Edge Challenge Course, and the Sky Zipline.

It’s time to take your adventuring to new heights.

Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more outdoor adventures to bookmark!
