Sam Asghari’s Reaction to Britney Spears’ DUI Arrest

On March 4, Britney Spears was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence in Ventura County. She was then taken to the hospital.

Actor Sam Asghari was married to Spears, 44, from June 2022 to August 2023. He has avoided talking about his ex-wife publicly. However, he did give a short response when asked about her recent arrest.

Asghari, 32, appeared on News Nation to talk about the war with Iran and was asked about the arrest. “My focus has been on the Iran situation,” he said. “As it goes [for] the past, I cannot skip the past. … I think everybody makes mistakes, and everybody deserves privacy. You know, if we learn from history, we have to understand the press could hurt somebody recovering from a situation like this. But I’d like to stay focused on the situation because it is bigger than everything right now.”

A representative for Spears released a statement saying the arrest was an “unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable” and she “will take the right steps and comply with the law.” The singer does seem to want privacy since she deleted her Instagram. She previously would post herself dancing on the profile.

On February 4, she posted about her family after being freed from her conservatorship. “As people, all we really want is to feel connected to each other and never feel alone … for those of you in your family that have said to help you is to isolate you and make you feel unbelievably left out … they were wrong,” read the caption of a picture of a baby holding an adult’s finger. “We can forgive as people but [you] don’t ever forget. Yearning and longing for contact is always crucial !!!”

The singer is due to appear in court on May 4, according to Today.
