Magic’s new Secrets of Strixhaven novel is getting a major discount at Amazon already

Magic: The Gathering’s new Secrets of Strixhaven set is just a couple of weeks away, and we’ve seen decklists galore for its precons, as well as plenty of card spoilers. The set will also get its own tie-in novel, Strixhaven: Omens of Chaos, from Seanan McGuire, who has worked with Wizards of the Coast in the past. Omens of Chaos is currently discounted at Amazon, making it a great way for Magic fans to jump back into the Plane of Strixhaven and the game’s most famous magical school before the set’s launch.

“When Wizards of the Coast gave me the go-ahead to write the first long-form Magic: The Gathering novel since 2019, I’m not exaggerating or being hyperbolic as I say that it was a dream come true,” Omens of Chaos author Seanan McGuire told Polygon.

The hardcover version of Omens of Chaos is currently selling for $20.99, a 28% discount on its regular MSRP of $29, and if you pick up one of the first editions, you’ll get an exclusive Command Tower variant inside. If you prefer to read digitally, the book’s Kindle version is down to $13.43, but you won’t get the card.

Eula Blue was supposed to be a shield mage. That was before the war came—before the fight for the Multiverse devastated Eula’s home, and with it her hopes for a magical education.

But the destruction of the war also brought something new: the ability to travel to other planes. And when Eula receives an invitation to study magic at a distant school called Strixhaven, she leaps to take it.
