The Royal Sonesta Kaua‘i Resort Lihue has appointed Monika Henry as general manager, effective April 20, 2026. Henry most recently served as general manager of Sonesta White Plains Downtown, where she led the hotel’s transition from Crowne Plaza to Sonesta Hotels & Resorts and oversaw a multimillion-dollar renovation. Her previous experience includes leadership roles at InterContinental Boston by IHG and The Westin Copley Place, Boston.
Henry was recognized in 2024 as Sonesta Hotels & Resorts General Manager of the Year and as the Women in Tourism General Manager Category Winner.
The Royal Sonesta Kaua‘i Resort Lihue, located along Kalapaki Beach, has recently undergone a multi-million-dollar transformation. The property features 356 guest rooms and suites, four dining venues, Hawaii’s largest single-level swimming pool, and 27,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.
