The best things to do this weekend are right here, Edmonton.

We’ve rounded up some of the best things to do in the city, whether it’s visiting a market, going to a festival, or just exploring what the city has to offer. You can always get nose deep in a book, or smell the flowers at the nature expo, it’s all looking like a good time!

No more chatter, let’s get into the best things to do this weekend.

This year-round market is home to over 120 different vendors, and more than 80 per cent of those vendors are local, who make, bake, and grow their own products. It offers so much more than you could ever imagine, so you’ll just have to check it out yourself.

When: Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday
Where: 3696 97th St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free

ChocoFest will be running for its second year in Sherwood Park this April. This festival is Alberta’s premier chocolate tasting festival as well as a two-day celebration of all things chocolate. In total, you can expect 28 diverse vendors from Canada, Peru and Denmark.

When: Friday, April 24, 2026, and Saturday, April 25, 2026
Time: Various times
Where: Millennium Place —  2000 Premier Way, Sherwood Park, Alta.
Cost: $16+

Wok Box is inviting Canadians to its nationwide Friends & Family Event on April 25 and 26, featuring exclusive in-store deals at participating locations. Guests can enjoy $9 regular boxes, $5 Bang Bang Shrimp, $5 half traditional poutines, $1 canned drinks, and double rewards points. The first 25 customers each day will also receive a limited-edition tote bag. During the event, $1 from every four-piece spring roll order will be donated to local YMCA programs supporting community well-being.

When: Saturday, April 25, 2026, and Sunday, April 26, 2026

Friday Night Trivia is hosted each week at Telus World of Science’s Purple Pear Restaurant. This event is not only free but also family-friendly, so everyone can participate and compete.

When: Every Friday
Time: 7 to 9 p.m.
Where: Telus World of Science — 11211 142nd St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free

This market in Old Strathcona has been around for ages, and it’s Edmonton’s most premier farmers market. Being the original year-rounder, this place offers the best locally grown and made goods as well as trinkets you won’t be able to find anywhere else.

When: Every Saturday and Sunday
Time: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays
Where: 10310 83rd Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free

Queen Mary’s Market is located in the heart of Edmonton and offers over 130 vendors, as well as five individual restaurants within the building. This market takes on strong local vendors with a selection of antiques, rare collectibles, local produce, artisanal goods, and services.

When: Every Saturday and Sunday
Time: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays
Where: 12011 111th Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free

This Saturday comes the biggest botanical market in Edmonton: the Naturecore Expo. With over 80 vendors showcasing various plants, plant-related paraphernalia, artisan items, and more, you won’t want to miss out on this nature extravaganza.

When: Saturday, April 25, 2026
Time: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Event Centre Northeast River Valley Park — 903 153rd Ave. NE, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free

The Edmonton Indie Bookstore Extravaganza is a team-up between a bunch of pop-up bookstores and locally owned shops within the city. During this event, running this weekend, you can visit as many participating bookstores and get entered to win multiple prizes, with contributions from each individual bookstore.

When: Saturday, April 25, 2026, and Sunday, April 26, 2026
Time: Various times
Where: Multiple bookstores across Edmonton
Cost: Free

L-ART-T is the Edmonton Arts Council’s LRT pop-ups, with interactive activities and performances taking over the stations on multiple occasions. Whether it’s getting a poem made just for you, a spoken word performance, or something you’d never expect on an LRT ride, you’re going to have a great time.

Its final pop-up will take place on April 25, from noon to 5 p.m. at Corona Station, bringing it all back to where it began. You can celebrate the Edmonton Indie Book Store Extravaganza with spoken word poetry and illuminated towers.

On Sunday, Earth’s Refillery Coop is holding a community block party and market focused on all things reduced, reused, and recycled.
