Welcome to your weekly look-ahead at what’s heading to Netflix! It’s a massive crossover week as we close out April and kick off May 2026, and Netflix is bringing some heavy hitters to celebrate the new month.

Below, we’ll dive into our top three highlights for the week before running down the complete preliminary list of everything arriving on Netflix between April 27th and May 1st.

What to Watch on Netflix This Week

Swapped (2026) Netflix Original

Coming to Netflix: Friday

If you’re looking for your next family movie night fix, Netflix’s massive new animated feature, Swapped, has you covered. Directed by Nathan Greno (who co-directed Disney’s Tangled), this gorgeous new adventure from Skydance Animation boasts a stacked voice cast including Michael B. Jordan, Juno Temple, Tracy Morgan, and Cedric the Entertainer.

It follows two natural sworn enemies of the Valley—a small woodland mammal and a majestic bird—who accidentally swap bodies after crashing into a magical plant and are forced to team up to survive.

We’ve already published our big interview with the director, with more to come from him and other cast members throughout the week – stay tuned!

Man on Fire (Season 1) Netflix Original

Coming to Netflix: Thursday

You likely remember the iconic 2004 Tony Scott film starring Denzel Washington, but now A.J. Quinnell’s acclaimed novel is getting the prestige TV treatment. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stars as John Creasy, a former special forces soldier struggling with severe PTSD who is pulled back into the fray to safeguard a young girl. Packed with gritty action and incredibly high stakes, this new thriller series is almost guaranteed to dominate the top 10 charts this weekend.

La Brea (Seasons 1-4)

Coming to Netflix: Friday

Network shows have been thriving on Netflix lately, and NBC’s sci-fi mystery La Brea is perfectly primed to be your next major binge-watch obsession. The premise is wild: a massive sinkhole inexplicably opens up in the middle of Los Angeles, pulling hundreds of people and buildings down into a primeval, dangerous, prehistoric land. With all four seasons dropping on Friday, May 1st, it’s the perfect time to fall down the rabbit hole and uncover the secrets of the sinkhole.
