President Donald Trump visits The Villages: Watch full speech

THE VILLAGES, Fla. – President Donald Trump flew to Florida on Friday, where he delivered a 90-minute speech to crowds in The Villages, a popular retirement community in the Sunshine State.

He was met with chants of “USA! USA! USA!” from the crowd as he took to the stage.

“Thank you. Thank you very much everybody. It’s great to be here. I’m thrilled to be back in the home of a great place. I love Florida. We love Florida. With all of the very great and great patriots of The Villages,” he said.

During his speech, President Trump talked about a variety of topics, including the Iran war, the Strait of Hormuz, gas prices, as well as Medicaid, GLP-1 coverage, immigration, social security, retirement, and the midterm elections.

Florida Sen. Ashley Moody, Florida Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson, and Byron Donalds, who is running for Florida governor, also stumped for Trump during the event.

Among the highlights:

• President Donald Trump said those on Medicaid would be able to purchase GLP-1 shots for $50 beginning in July.
• He talked about expanding access to retirement accounts, the TrumpIRA.gov website, and the $1,000 match
• He talked about gas prices, admitting they had increased.
• He promoted Byron Donalds, one of a number of candidates running to be Florida’s next governor (Ron. DeSantis is term limited)
• TV personality Dr. Phil McGraw joined Trump on stage and talked for several minutes

Some people camped overnight, while others arrived early Friday morning to wait in line for President Trump’s speech. Several people were decked out in patriotic shirts, shorts, overalls, and socks, while others had Trump-branded hats.
