Over 500 vendors are turning this Calgary street into a full festival next month

6 May 20262 Mins Read

If there’s one event that signals summer is here in Calgary, it’s this. The 4th Street Lilac Festival is back this June, and it completely takes over the street with vendors, live music, food, and entertainment all day long.

It’s free to attend, it’s busy in the best way, and it always feels like half the population of Calgary ends up there at some point. The whole street turns into a non-stop stretch of things to see, eat, and listen to, and you can easily spend hours just wandering without realizing how much time has passed.

A full day of music, vendors, and summer energy

The festival will take place on Sunday, June 7, and if you’ve ever been before, then you already know the vibe. The entire street quickly fills up with music coming from every direction, crowds moving from booth to booth, and something new catching your attention every few steps.

With six different stages and over 70 performances throughout the day, there’s always something happening nearby.

Beyond the music, one of the biggest draws to the festival is the vendor lineup. Over 500 vendors set up along the street, offering everything from handmade crafts and local goods to food, fashion, and imported items.

There’s also a strong focus on keeping things accessible for all ages. Throughout the stretch of the street, families will find kid-friendly activities like face painting, creative workshops, and kids’ performance stages.

The festival itself is organized by the 4th Street Festival Society, and according to the Festival, continues to highlight local talent and create space for both emerging and established artists to connect with the community.

Honestly, something about this festival just hits different every year. Maybe it’s the energy, maybe it’s the crowds, or maybe it’s just finally feeling like summer again. Regardless, it’s one of those days in Calgary that always delivers.

So get ready, because 4th Street is about to get very busy!

When: Sunday, June 7, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: 4th Street SW, Calgary, Alta. (From 12th Avenue to Elbow Drive SW)
Cost: Free
