Viral Granny, 99, Breaks the Internet During Crowd-Surfing Moment at Country Concert — Watch

A nearly 100-year-old woman is getting recognized for reaching a unique milestone that’s hard to achieve. Pauline Kana, 99, affectionately known as ‘Gangster Granny,’ now holds the Guinness World Record title for ‘Oldest Person to Crowd Surf.’

Kana, who is the grandmother of Ross Smith, reached the incredible milestone with the help of country star Brantley Gilbert, who welcomed her to the stage during one of his recent concerts to introduce her to the audience and share the plan to make her the ‘Oldest woman to crowd surf.’

A video jointly shared by Gilbert and Smith on Instagram shows the moment unfold as Kana is passed through the massive crowd, wearing a smile spread across her face. At the same time, the singer performs “Son Of The Dirty South,” which usually features Jelly Roll during the rap verses. 

“That was awesome,” Gilbert says near the end of the clip as the fans break into a “Granny” chant. 

“I did it! I’m the greatest of all time!” Kana says afterward while holding up her Guinness World Record certificate.   

“Granny breaks the world record for the oldest person to crowd surf!  Thank you to all the 20,000 people for making this happen,” a caption reads alongside the video post. “I still have chills listening to that Granny chant. What an iconic and funny moment. A special thanks to @brantleygilbert for letting us crash his concert.” 

Fans and followers were also quick to share their reaction to the social media post, with one person writing, “I  love this woman! Time to say no to fear and give this a go! She’s got 40 years on me!”

“The smile that can be seen from outer space! She’s living such an incredible life and deserves it,” another person added, while a third follower wrote, “Someone needs to build her a statue or put her in the Hall of Fame.”
