Choice Hotels International, Inc. announced a leadership transition with Patrick Pacious stepping down as President and Chief Executive Officer. Pacious will serve as an advisor to the company through August 31, 2026, to support the transition. The Board of Directors has appointed Dominic Dragisich, Chief Growth & Strategy Officer, as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective May 20, 2026.

The Board will conduct a comprehensive search for the next Chief Executive Officer in partnership with an executive search firm, considering both internal and external candidates.

Pacious has been with Choice Hotels for nearly 21 years and served as President and Chief Executive Officer since 2017. Under his leadership, the company expanded its portfolio from 11 to 22 brands, acquired WoodSpring Suites and Radisson Hotels Americas, established a direct franchising international platform, advanced technology and digital initiatives for franchisees, and more than doubled adjusted EBITDA.

Dragisich, now Interim Chief Executive Officer, previously served as Executive Vice President, Operations and Chief Global Brand Officer, and as Chief Financial Officer from 2017 to 2023. He has overseen acquisitions and major growth initiatives for the company.

Choice Hotels International reaffirmed its full year 2026 financial guidance. The company is headquartered in North Bethesda, Maryland.
