We’re officially heading into the first week of summer in Calgary, and you can already feel the shift around the city. Between festival season starting up again and warmer days sticking around, it finally feels like there’s a reason to make plans and get out of the house.

We’ve rounded up some of the best things to do around the city this week. Whether you’re looking for a night out or a last-minute plan, there’s definitely no shortage of reasons to get out and explore right now.

Let’s jump into it.

Travel back through the eras of The Beatles with The Liverpool 4,  a tribute show that brings the legendary band’s biggest hits to life on stage. With nearly 20 years of touring across North America, this is a live concert experience built to make you feel like you are right back in the height of Beatlemania.

Todd Ness is returning to the Comedy Cave for a night of stand-up. Once a hockey referee and government worker, he traded in his normal life for comedy stages across Canada, delivering high-energy, relatable sets that connect with every crowd.

Join the Ultimate Summer Challenge, Calgary Public Library’s largest program for readers and learners of all ages. The idea is simple: read a little every day this summer. With free access to books, resources, and events through the Library, it’s an easy way for Calgarians to stay inspired all season long – plus you will be entered to win some pretty great grand prizes. Registration opens June 15, and the challenge will run from July 1 until August 31, 2026.

Hello, Dolly! is a vibrant musical adaptation of Thornton Wilder’s The Matchmaker, filled with humour, romance, and some of the most iconic songs in musical theatre. It follows the lively Dolly Gallagher Levi, a matchmaker who sets out to meddle in matters of love and change the course of several lives throughout the day.

When: Wednesday, June 24, 2026

The Pan American Tournament presented by Rolex is taking over Spruce Meadows for a weekend filled with world-class show jumping from top athletes around the globe.

Off the field, the grounds come alive with shopping, food vendors, kids’ activities, and plenty to explore. It’s an easy summer plan for the whole family.

Country Thunder is bringing three days of country music to downtown Calgary at The Confluence Historic Site and Parkland. At the festival, you can expect big-name headliners and thousands of fans singing along right in the heart of the city.

Fête de la Musique is a free, open-air celebration of live music in all forms. Taking place outside cSPACE Marda Loop, the evening will feature a continuous lineup of local artists performing a variety of genres.

Alongside the music, guests can enjoy family-friendly activities, food and drinks options, and a welcoming space designed for all ages to gather and celebrate together.

The Curiosities and Oddities Walking Tour at Heritage Park uncovers the strange side of history on a 1.5-hour guided walk through the grounds. Guests will explore historic sites such as the Prince House and Gledhill’s Pharmacy while discovering unexpected facts about the past.
